Jennifer has had her Barbie dolls put away in her closet for a few years. Mainly because she enjoyed babydolls much more. She has a fascination with babies. Grandma (my mom) gave her a set of Disney Princess dolls for Christmas and we finally opened the box today. Watching the way she played with the dolls and the excitement in her eyes, told me that it was time to get the Barbies back out.
She LOVED playing with them and did a great job putting them back into the appropriate toy tub! Just having her actually put toys away without me asking her ten times and still not accomplishing anything was AMAZING! This is the very first time she's ever put toys away at home.
That leads me to talking about how you'll find that I'll often write about Jennifer's firsts. With my son, Jonathan, he grew up so fast that I found myself unable to keep up with all of his milestones. Having a little one with Down syndrome has made me take the time to truely appreciate each and every accomplishment.
