This is going to sound so small, but I've learned that the smallest moments in life usually turn out to be the biggest moments. Today, I attempted to go to not one, but two grocery stores with both kids. I know that with one at 13 and the other 8, you're probably thinking...."And?" But this was a scary situation to forge into on a cold, wet Monday. I was able to get all of my groceries purchased, use coupons and keep my cool! That was MY first. So, what was Jennifer's first?
Every time I go shopping with her, I have to pray that her long legs will fit into the shopping carts, because keeping her with me has been so impossible without containing her. Too many distractions and not enough fear of strangers!
Today, she made it through a little more than half of our grocery shopping without being in the shopping cart. She chose to get out (she needed to pick out poptarts), but I never had to remind her to stay with me after that. She helped me shop and stayed right with me, even when her older brother ran to grab a last minute item for us.
I am so proud of her and can't wait to take her on another shopping trip!
